Can you just see the betrayal on her face on the top picture??? "Mom, how could you possibly even think of setting me down?!?!" I couldn't get those tears to stop so I had to do a reshoot, which didn't go much better the result is the 2nd picture where she's in between sobs. Funny girl, but can't say I blame her too much, it was below freezing both times! This month Shaye found the "D" on the gear shift when she figured out how to crawl forward... and then up... everything! Crawling and being my baby is no longer an option, she has to find the nearest thing she can climb up to and stand. Then when she wants to move on, she squeals to get my attention- she needs my fingers to hold onto so she can walk to wherever it is she thinks she wants to be. Silly girl! She had a tooth finally pop though! She moved up to size 3 diapers, still in size 2 shoes, and loves Justus's "puppies (his snuggle toys)." We all fight over who's baby she is, although I'm positive she's all mine! I just can't get enough of those so sweet toes, tiny fingers, and those oh so irresistible kisser cheeks... what a doll!

Shaye had such a great time this past month... Aggie basketball games, her first Christmas, her first New Year's, and naturally that means, party! party! party! Shaye has mastered the art of crawling, backwards that is. One of these days she's going to surprise herself and move forward. Sitting, laying, or being held, she is constantly kicking... future soccer player! She's become our little chatter box, sounds familiar doesn't it???? Like say her big brother for instance, and he's still that way :) Which I love because I love the hearing how his little mind is thinking. Shaye went back to nearly sleeping through the night... doesn't want to eat, but she's up a few times crying for her binkie. I'm great with that, quick solution and we're both back to sleep. Still no teeth, but nothing beats that beautiful smile, and she loves to show it off!

We have been enjoying this holiday season so much already! We are taking in everything Christmas from the lights, the carols, the trees, to the snow (what little we have)... and loving it all!!! We've got a chocolate countdown calender, and guess what??? Only 3 left! :) Hope your holidays are filled with as much excitement and joy as ours!

Shaye is always so much fun. She has discovered the joy of movement... she rolls to wherever her little heart desires and has a great time doing it. This new found freedom has left her all smiles. This girl has turned into our little cheese ball! She can't help herself; she is such a smile bucket and I love it! She loves to play and talk to anyone who will pay attention. She still hates baby food, and is dying to eat anything anyone else is eating. Her favorite toy is her mini musical piano. At 5am everyday, she is up and ready for action, luckily her daddy is more of a morning person than her mom! She's not into napping, if she's down for 30 minutes, she overdone herself. She's our little sweet treat and we are so excited to spend this Christmas season with our two crazy kiddos!

Turkey Day

Thanksgiving was a quiet one this year, but a great one. We spent the day with the Mangum's chewing down some grub and watching a little football. They were so sweet to let us crash their party. Friday, we all went out and did a little shopping... got some good deals and the kids were so good. We wanted to do something fun for the kids so Saturday we went to see Arthur Christmas. It was a pretty cute show, Justus loved the sleigh! We really couldn't have asked for a better Thanksgiving weekend than one spent with our two little munchkins- they are our everything!

We had such a fun Halloween this year! Justus was Spiderman and loving every second of it and Miss Shaye was a snuggley sweet lady bug. We got some trick-or-treating in between visiting everyone and grabbing a bowl of delicious homemade chili (my personal favorite thing about Halloween :) ).

What more can I say about this girl other than I love her to pieces! She is quick to flash her beautiful cheeky smile, getting her to laugh is a bit tougher. She loves her daddy to hold her and when he does, she can't help but grab onto his facial hair. She no longer sleeps through the night :( but she has to be in her bed, swaddled, by 7pm or nobody's happy. Her favorite food is squash, but she prefers her bottle over anything. She's not content to just lay down and play, she has to be sitting or preferably standing to be truly happy. I couldn't ask for a greater blessing than to have this sweet girl for a daughter.

Miss Shaye is growing-up so fast! She is sitting-up by herself and her favorite thing to do is watch Justus. She loves her big brother and he can get the best laughs out of her! Her 5 month pictures... not so fabulous. We tried 3 separate photo shoots to try to get her at least not crying, but she knew every time I pulled the camera out. Funny girl! We'll hope for a happier photo shoot on her 6 month pictures :)

My Little Cowboy

My boy turned 2 1/2 years old! He's such a crazy little man; we love trying to keep up with him. He is into everything. He loves to ride his bike and play baseball, jump on the tramp and play in his sandbox. His favorite food is chocolate chip cookies. If he had it his way, that's all he'd eat... can't say I blame him! He's into anything involving a "super hero." When he grows up, he's going to be "big like a transformer." "Why?" comes after every everything we say. I expected he would go through that phase, just not to soon. He's an amazing big brother. He loves to play with Shaye and she adores him. He gives her lots of kisses and loves and always tells her that he loves her. We cherish these moments because not only are they adorable, but we know they won't last as they grow-up and have to start sharing :)

I tried to get some pictures of the kids together- not successfully. Shaye decided she was starving and by the time she was ready to go again, Justus was ready to play. Can't blame a 2 year old for that one :) Of course I had to get pictures of Justus at the beach, too. Gotta say, what a handsome guy!!!

Our pretty princess turned 4 months old!!!! She is mastering the rolling thing; she can go front to back and back to front... just not quickly. She has started laughing, which we all love so we do our best to act crazy enough that she will. She likes to give those sweet slobbery open-mouth "kisses." She's turned into quite the little squealer- loves to have her voice heard, and we have to laugh at her enthusiasm. Her toes are her favorite toy, she's constantly clinging to them. She prefers that she stands over sitting and still hates her tummy time.

We finally got up in the hills for a ride! It's been so crazy this summer that we haven't had the chance to go. Shaye did so great on her first ride and you know Justus was loving every minute of it. We have been one more time since then and it was so fun also. We can't wait to take the kids up again.

Baby Girl turned 3 months old and 4 days later, she rolled over! She has become quite the little talker; She has to make sure she gets her opinion heard. I love hearing her sweet voice. Justus loves it too, he always asks her, "What did you say, Shaye?" He's very good at making her feel like part of the conversation. She loves to show-off her toothless smile and play with her cousins. She finally fits into her newborn shoes and she got her toenails painted for the first time... we are starting to get into this girlie at our house, even if I didn't think it was possible.

This year we got season passes to Seven Peaks Salt Lake. We've been a few times and the kids have totally loved it. I wasn't sure how Shaye would do because she is a warm water girl, but I guess the water is just warm enough because she'll just chill in the pool while Justus goes crazy. July always marks family reunion time for both of our families. This year, we headed to Tooele for the Burridge Reunion. We had so much fun just playing at the pool all day and soaking in the rays. Justus loved being able to splash around with all his cousins.

Last weekend was an eventful one for the Anderson family. We kicked it off on Friday with the oldest grandchild, Adrienne getting married. It turned out to be the perfect day for the cute couple and I have to say... what a stunningly beautiful bride (pictures to come)! Saturday Bartley baptized his oldest, Brynlee and Dustin blessed Shaye at one big shin-dig. Dustin did an amazing job and Shaye was as gorgeous an angel as ever. All three girls had such special days. We are blessed to have these amazing girlies in our family; we love them all more than words can say.

Saturday we threw a movie themed bridal shower for my sweet niece, Adrienne. She is such a doll and we had so much fun doing it for her. Everyone had a movie that their gift corresponded with... for example one of her gifts from Jessica and I went with Pretty Woman (someone has to embarrass her, right??). Everyone got creative with their gifts, which really made it fun. We had popcorn, soda, and movie theater candy for food and everyone got their picture on the red carpet as they arrived. Congrats on your engagement, Adrienne! We love you!

Living Planet Aquarium

The weekend before I had Shaye, I turned 30 (do I scream at that or just go with it and say "party!"???). I wanted to get out and do something fun with Justus because I figured we probably wouldn't be doing that for awhile. We decided that the Living Planet Aquarium would be a fun place to try. Justus had a great time even though he didn't want to touch the stingrays and the anaconda snake "scared me, Mom!" Can't say I blame him, I really couldn't even look at it- so creepy! The gift shop ones were pretty fun, though... I think they were his favorite part of the whole thing.

Thursday the 28th we left Justus home asleep with Grandma Liechty and headed to the hospital for the scheduled c-section. We had to be there at 5:30, but surgery wasn't scheduled until 7:30. By 7:53, she out and peeing... yes, I said peeing. As they pull her out the doctor says "Here she is, and she's peeing." Nice, huh? We later realized that is just her, "Oh, I'm out in the open, now would be a good time to go!" I thought that was suppose to be a boy thing, but no, this girl is far worse than Justus ever was. In recovery, they brought her back to me to feed and cuddle. What a doll! Dustin was able to bring Justus back to meet his sister and he thought that was pretty neat. He really loves her- he calls her "my baby" and lets us know every move she makes. This c-section went much better than the one with Justus- I felt so much better during and after. I loved my anesthesiologist- he took such good care of me, not that my one with Justus didn't, this one was just very attentive to any possible need that I could have had. So, thank you Dr! Thank you to all the amazing doctors and nurses that were involved in bringing my healthy beautiful baby girl into our lives!!

Is that not the sweetest two year old?? I'd have to say so! He was so excited about everything... his dump truck cake, his "surprises," his cousins coming, people singing "Happy Birthday" to him, his balloons. What a great birthday! It was actually a three day long event that started at the Fun Park with some bowling, soft play, and pizza, and ended on his actual birthday with Chick-fil-A. This is one of his personal favorites because he gets to indulge in some of his favorite foods (nuggets and french fries with "sauces") and of course, run around like crazy at the playland.

Favorite Movie: Incredibles, which is also where he gets his

Favorite one-liner: "Edna Mode." At Christmas time it was "The, the, the, the Grinch!"

Favorite food: corn dogs and french fries with sauces

Favorite activity: four wheeling with Dad. He has become and expert at driving his four wheeler around the house- no crashing into walls or furniture, even while attempting stunts- which stem from another favorite, watching four wheelers on YouTube doing anything- tricks, jumping, racing, crashing, mudding. I see ER visits as I look at this boys future. Although, he does like to wear his helmet around the house. He will wear it for hours, insisting that it has to stay on.

Favorite book: Go, Dogs! Go!

Favorite sport: basketball, Aggie basketball to be specific, he knows all the cheers and the "Scotsman," Tai Wesley is his favorite player. He loves to "shoot hoops" with any ball he can find.

Favorite song: You are my Sunshine

Loves to help get himself dressed and help us put our shoes and socks on.

He needs his daddy and his puppy when he's tired.

Loves to shovel and vacuum.

Will inform us every time we get a vehicle, "The car is dirty. We need to go to the car wash." For whatever reason, this kid loves the car wash. I'm guessing he's going to make sure we have the cleanest cars we've ever had.

He is learning his alphabet and to count to "10." Knows "his" letter "j" very well.

He loves to tease and will do it any way he can.

Justus is such a daddy's boy, this morning he puts Dad's shoes and jacket on and proudly announces "I'm ready to go to work!" He wanted to "get in the truck and go to work! it be fun!" Sure thing kiddo, someone's got to pay for those diapers! After we got Dad off to work without his helper, we gave our working boy a haircut. What a handsome kiddo- who apparently is a poser, he's totally working it!

Last Saturday I got to go spend the day with my niece, Adrienne, and the girls doing a little planning for Adrienne's wedding. We had so much fun and most importantly, she found her dress- which is amazing, and she looks beautiful in it... couldn't post pictures of that, for obvious reasons :) Dustin decided to take Justus and Sherryil and go have a little fun of their own. They went to Hardware Ranch and took a ride out through the elk. Justus loved it, of course!

Dustin Turns 30!

Wow is he ever old! I can't believe that I married someone so much older than myself, but hey, what do you do?!? We decided to make a weekend of it and got a room in West Valley with a fun swim area. Justus didn't really get into the first day- not that I blame him, the water was freezing cold! He really wanted to go again, though so we thought we might as well. He really had a lot of fun so it's a good thing we tried again! We hit the lights at Temple Square- so beautiful! We haven't done that for a few years so it was great to go again. Justus is loving all the Christmas lights every where so we knew he'd get a kick out of it, and he did! HAPPY BIRTHDAY DUSTIN!!! WE LOVE YOU!

Every year we get my parents to go out on a few rides with us, but this year, it just didn't happen for whatever reason. I'm happy to report, we did finally get them out on one ride with us. We took a nice ride up Left Hand Fork on up to Four Corners. We found a sweet little spot and got a fire going... roasted some dogs and some mallows. Delicious! Good Times!

Justus is our little sponge, soaking in as much as possible at all times. He is learning his colors right now and can count to 3. He'll tell you how old he is- always one finger, but depending on the day, he'll tell you "1" or "3." When we go places, he likes to ask, "where are we?" and refers to churches as temples, but hey, he's got the right idea. He's Mr. Fix-it, always helping Dad work on his projects. He loves to grab a tool and get right in. Justus has discovered Mickey Mouse recently and loves to dance around singing "Hot Dog!" He's always spunky and ready to laugh. We really don't know what we did without this kiddo here to entertain us!

Labor Day Weekend

I had a nice long Labor Day weekend that started on Thursday and ended on Wednesday... nice, huh?! Friday I went to Swiss Days with Dustin's family. It was good fun and I got a couple cute things. Justus went with me and he really did pretty good.

Saturday we took off for the mountains to get in one last camping trip before it gets too cold. We went with our friends, Danny and Brynlee, and their two kids Sariah and Jack. We got some four wheeling in, so that always makes for a good time. It was a great weekend with lots of fun times :)

Facelift For Eddie

For those of you who don't know, Eddie is our camping trailer. Eddie has its name because as you can see from the pictures, it's not exactly high class... reminiscent of Uncle Eddie from National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. As Eddie would say, "Now that there, Clark, is an RV." Which our Eddie is not an RV, but it paints an accurate picture if you've ever seen the movie (it is a favorite at our house). The sheer curtains Eddie came with (top pic) were not all that fabulous when camping with other people- which we do all the time, so I decided to make some of my own. Do they clash with the rest of the decor? Most definitely. Are they cute in spite of that? Mostly yes, as far as trailer curtains go anyways.

Fresh Mountain Air

Over the 24th of July we went camping in Logan Canyon. It was so beautiful. We pretty much ate, slept, and went four wheeling all weekend. All I can say is that Justus was in Heaven! Every morning he woke-up asking "four wheeler??" Easy there kiddo, how about some breakfast first? We had a great time and loved that Jason and Rachelle could join us :)

Raging Waters

Saturday we went to Raging Waters with Sherryil and the Galloways. It was Cambree's 9th Birthday, so we had to celebrate. It was loads of fun, but by the time we left, it was a bit on the cold side. They had some great play areas for little ones, and Justus had a ball. He really loved hanging out in the Lazy River, too. I held onto him while he just chilled in the water, splashing the passerby's.

Lava Hot Springs

So I didn't do a great job getting pictures taken, but here's the best of what I got. We went to a family reunion on Dustin's side last weekend up to Lava Hot Springs. It was really a pretty nice place. We camped there and the pools were just next door. We had a great time swimming and floating the river- which was pretty warm because of the hot springs there. It was nice to see everyone, even if it was a short trip!

16 Months Going on 6 Years

These are actually his 1 year pictures, but it took us forever to get them from the photographer and then I took forever to post them. I gotta say... they are adorable! I love the way they turned out! I was surprised she got any because he was running around like the crazy little man he is. There is one more, but I couldn't get it to post for some reason, but it's equally as cute. This boy thinks he is so big; he insists he is one of the "big" kids. He loves animals, he can identify them and tell you what they all say. His favorite food is pizza. We can't say the word without him freaking out wanting some now! It didn't realize we'd have to start spelling words instead of saying them so soon so we don't create drama. His ultimate favorite pastime is four wheeling, he is constantly begging to go for a ride. It's so cute, so of course we take him for a spin around the neighborhood if we can't get out for a "real" ride. He is so polite, always a "please" and usually a "thank you." This kid is so funny- and he knows it, he can always get a good laugh at himself. I keep telling him he's got to slow down a bit and be my baby just a little longer, but he's not listening! I guess I'll just have to keep-up!

Couldn't Have Been Better

I know, lots of pics, but hey, it was an awesome weekend! We got it started off on Friday night with the Logan City fireworks show. Dustin got us the perfect spot just outside the stadium, in the shade (for the pre-party). It was a real party, too! We had Dustin's family and my family (through the whole weekend, how great!!!). That night, my mom got and early birthday surprise (her birthday is July 4th). Jessica and her sweet family came all the way from St. George to join in the fun. It was such a great surprise, mostly because I was in on it, but also because no one had a clue they were coming. They met us up at the stadium... so exciting! Saturday we headed over to Bear Lake to soak in a few rays. It was perfect over there, except Dustin decided to stay in Logan for the car show. We missed him, but he had a great time and he got me the beautiful picture of those classic cars. My dear sweet Grandpa Brown restored those babies to perfection. My Aunt LaNette and my Uncle Richard get to claim them. My Aunt Claudia was also up showing off their '66 Corvette. So much family, so little time! I really wish we could have squeezed a few more days into that "weekend!" Saturday night we headed to Main Street to watch the Cruise-In (for those of you not from Cache Valley, this is where all the cars from the car show drag up and down main, showing off how fancy they are). Loved it! Sunday was my mom's birthday so we of course had a big dinner to celebrate. The big 60! Happy Birthday Mom! That night we ran out to Sherryil's to create a nice little firework show of our own. Kolter was in charge of the pyrotechnics and did a pretty great job. We spent the 5th at the Hyrum City Parade. Justus had a great time. He didn't get into getting the candy, which I thought he might, he was just tired enough to hang out and watch all the fun things going by. The end of the parade marked the beginning of the end of the weekend. Nicole left to take Bartley to the airport and to stay in Springville for a few days and Jess's family headed back home. Thanks for coming everyone, you made the weekend so fabulous! We squeaked a bit more fun out of the weekend by having a cookout at Dawn's. The kids had a great time playing in the water. Justus loved loved loved the whole weekend. There was never a shortage of kids to play with and fun things to do. How great is the 4th of July?! I had Tuesday off, too, which I was so grateful for. I needed it to recover from all the fun!

Eclipse Party

I am not a die-hard fan, but I was able to go to the premier of Eclipse and it was pretty fun, I hav
e to say. I read the books and liked them, but movies 1 and 2, not so impressed. This was by far the best one of the three, I thought all of the characters were better portrayed, except Edward (I guess I'm just not digging Robert Pattinson). Reading the books, I was Team Edward, movies- Team Jacob for sure. If that isn't obvious from the picture... Edward was also there, but we didn't even bother with him, no offense to those on team Edward.

He was having a ball after we got back from our ride on Saturday putting on Jodi's helmet and seeing how far he could run before it fell off. Couldn't Quite Make It

Saturday we thought we'd get out for another ride before the craziness that is July begins. We wanted to get to Inspiration Point. We've been on this ride a few times before and it has the most amazing view at the top. We made it about 3/4ths the way up the trail before we ran into snow that made the trail impassable. I was pretty disappointed! Oh well, I guess we'll just have to try it again later! It was still good fun- thanks for coming with us, ladies!

Born To Ride

We finally got out on our first "official" ride! We had so much fun and the two little ones thought it was awesome. Justus didn't even fuss for a second getting his helemet on- we were worried it might not go over so well, but he was so excited about going on the four wheeler that he didn't even care. We went up Millville Canyon. It is so beautiful. You get to the top and look down into the valley and across the mountain ranges... gorgeous! Can't wait to go again, either can Copelin and Justus.

Surpise For My Boys

Our big project for the summer was to get a sand box in for Justus. I was really wanting it done fast so that he could enjoy it the whole summer, but things have been so busy, we could only get bits and pieces of it done here and there. Dustin has been on over time at work the past couple weeks so project sand box was really sitting on the back burner, looming over our heads. Last Thursday, I decided it had to be done. While Dustin was a work I called my handy dandy brother, Brian and roped him into my project (thanks a million Bri! It would have been sitting there undone for who knows how long without you!). Long story short- dump truck driver, Bri in backhoe, me armed with shovels and a rake- PROJECT COMPLETE!!!! Nice surprise for Dustin and Baby (amazingly he took a nap during the majority of the process)! I can't even tell you how excited I am to have this checked of the "to-do" list.

Sea World

We spent one day at Sea World with Nicole's and Brian's families. It was so much fun. We just didn't have enough time to see everything... is there ever enough time??? Justus loved the whales. He just watched so amazed- and it was pretty darn cool. Another favorite was the play ground, I think Justus could have stayed there all day and been in heaven. We were disappointed that the dolphin show was closed. They have a new dolphin show that just opened this week that they were getting ready for... whatever! I guess it gives us an excuse to go again! We had such an awesome trip, our only regret is that it couldn't last longer (you know, like a couple weeks longer! ;) ). We had a blast! Thanks family for making it so much fun, we have to do it again for sure!

Beach Days

There is nothing better than walking out your door onto a beautiful beach, with the sun shining and the waves crashing. We spent Wednesday and Saturday just soaking it all in... really wish we could have spent a few more days doing just that and only that! There was a playground right on the beach just up from where we were... could my son ask for more???? Worlds biggest sandbox and a slide and stairs to go with?! This was Heaven for Monkey Man! We bought some boogie boards when we got down there- we first tried it in Mazatlan and loved it there, so we knew it was going to be one of our first things we did. The water was a bit colder, but it was just fine once you got in and riding the waves! :)

It's A Small World After All

Tuesday we went to Disneyland and had a ball! It felt like we hardly saw anything- we really needed a couple more days there, but we had a great time with the one day we had. Justus by far loved Toon Town the most. He wanted to test drive every car and run crazy through every house. He loved meeting the characters, he thought they were pretty cool. We did the Disney Get-A-Day program so it cost us a grand total of $10 (plus parking) to get in! Score, eh?? The volunteer thing led to us (the whole family, except Brent's because they were off playing somewhere else, but as you can see from the last picture, that made for a great cheering section!) being chosen to be in their parade. I was thinking, lame... but it ended-up being so much fun. We rode in a big open car and Justus was able to run back and forth checking out people on both sides, cheering and waving just for him ;) My favorite ride, Space Mountain! I remember not liking it because it seemed really rough from the last time I was there (6th grade), but this time... it was pretty sweet. We were able to do a baby swap thing at all the rides, so that worked out really nicely. Bryn got to ride most of the rides twice because the baby swap passes allowed 4 people to jump to the front of the line, so she took advantage of every chance she got. It was so fun having kids of all different ages to do everything. They were all so good and had such a great time... we'll have to do it again as soon as possible!

Hello Oceanside!

We spent last week living it up in Oceanside, CA. We rented a beach house for the week. My parents, brother's Brent and Brian, sister Nicole and their families all came along to soak up some rays. We got there Saturday afternoon and just reveled in the warmth of the day (it was snowing as we left Cache Valley) and the amazing beach house- it was awesome! Sunday we did a lot of walking; on the beach, on the pier, down Oceanside streets. We eventually made our way to San Diego to see the temple there and check-out Old Town.
Monday Dustin, Brian, Cassie, and I headed to Burbank to catch the Tonight Show with Jay Leno!!! It was great, our seats were amazing (2nd row and we have no idea how we scored such fabulous seats- there were a ton of people in front of us and the people behind us in line were about halfway back in the audience... so go us! ;) ). We even got to shake Jay's hand. Yes, we are now famous, that is if you happened to watch the Tonight Show on May 3rd and caught the millisecond view of our heads at the beginning of the show. That is the only picture we got- no cameras allowed on the grounds, so whatever, we'll take a picture of the little sign and have that as a memento. It was such a fun week, and I have lots of pictures to post... which I will slowly but surely do!

Cute Cousins

I love that Justus is getting old enough to start actually playing with his cousins, especially this one, Madoc. He is the closest to Justus's age on Dustin's side. He is with this little guy 4-6 days a week, so they better get along! They were playing so great together so I decide to hurry and throw a few dishes in the dishwasher. When I looked over to see how they were doing, this is what I saw. I had to laugh! What funny boys!

No, we did not get a dog (thankfully!), we are dog-sitting for Brian and Cassie while they are off enjoying some nice Caribbean sunshine. Justus has had so much fun having Pooka around. They get along great, they both love her "house" and being outside. They would both constantly be begging to go out and play- as you can see. Justus learned how to say "Pooka" pretty quick and that would be the first thing he would ask for in the morning. Boys and their dogs! Thanks for the loaner!

We had such a great Easter! It was the first year Dustin and I have ever done eggs (I don't know why, but it was) and we had so much fun doing it! Justus had gone to bed by the time we got around to it, but he had fun with them in the morning. We hit my parents for lunch and Sherriyl's for dinner... we got totally spoiled with good food! Sherryil had a scavenger hunt for the kids. Justus wasn't really into figuring out his clues ;) but he was sure excited with the end result! Hope your Easter was as fun as ours!

What a Party!

Justus had such a fun first birthday! When it came time to party- there was no stopping the boy! He got mountains of presents- it was Christmas morning all over again. The picture with him taking a bit of his cupcake, that was the only second I got him to stop, and it was his only bite of birthday cake- he had way too many other things to do! We had a beach monkey theme going on and my fabulous sister, Natalie, helped with the most important part- the cake (monkey with a surfboard, of course!). It turned out sooo cute. Thanks, Nat! The four wheeler was from Dustin and I (of course) and the helmet is for when we actually get to go ride the "big" ones. Justus fits right in this family, since 7:30 this morning all he's wanted to do is ride that four wheeler! He figured it out pretty quick and is riding like a pro now. It's so funny to watch him- I'll post a video later. We are lucky to have lots of family live close by, so the party was well attended... THANKS EVERYONE!!! We love you all and appreciate everything you do for us and for Justus.

It's been 365 days- 52 weeks, 8,789 hours and 1 minute that you have been in our lives. And they have been the very best moments of mine. I expected a lot of things out of parenthood... sleepless nights, grumpy, whiny, crying children, messes, and frustrations. Those things did come, but to my surprise, they really haven't bothered me. Things I did not expect (and I don't really know why, but I didn't) are how completely and entirely my heart would melt every time I looked at those handsome blue eyes or hear that contagious laugh, or how your sweet little voice always makes me smile... things I didn't expect, but probably should have. But now I know. I know that I could never ask for any greater blessing than to have you in my life. I know that being a parent will be my life's greatest adventure. I know that there will be countless obstacles, but I am so grateful that I will be there to go through them with you. Most importantly, I know God loves me- he sent me you.

Vegas Baby!

So March 13th marks the date of my first race in 11 years... whoa! It was only a 5k, but hey, it was so great! And, as you can see, we took it pretty seriously! It was at Hoover Dam and I ran with my sistas- Nicole and Jessica, my dad, and Jessica's husband, Jake. Nicole's husband and his brother ran the half marathon (go them!). If you check out our tanks... we got the "sistas" sign going , just so everyone would know those 3 amazing runners are in fact family- awesomeness just runs in our genes! :) We spent some time in Vegas, taking in the sites and eating yummy food at PF Changs and Margaritaville (neither of which are located anywhere near good ol' Cache Valley). Dustin and Justus were not able to join me, so I missed them a lot. Not quite sure if either of them even noticed I was gone??? Nice work everyone! It was fabulous, we definitely need to do it again!

11 months and counting...

You know those really annoying parents who think they have the cutest, smartest kid???... I'm definitely one of them! I can't get over how stinkin' cute my baby is! That little smile melts me to the core and I just have to think that they don't come any sweeter than my little boy. He's such a charmer, he's got both of his parents wrapped around that tiny little finger! This month he's been showing us just how smart he really is. He is saying all sorts of words, a couple of my favorites are "Justus," "turtle," and animal sounds, such as "moo," and "meow." He's fascinated with faces and loves to point out "eyes," and "nose." He points out the mouth, too, but hasn't learned how to say it, yet.

Did someone say, "Aggie Basketball???" We've had so much fun this season with Justus there to help us cheer them on. We're feeling kind of sad that the regular season is coming to a close, but then, we can't wait for next year! Our little Aggie will singing the fight song with the best of them by then!

A Little Summertime Winter Fun

On Martin Luther King, Jr Day, both Dustin and I had the day off so my mom invited us over for a little fun at the pool. This was the first time we had actually taken Justus swimming. As you can tell, he didn't mind the freezing cold water (the heater was out). He just chilled and slurped his toys. Brian, Copelin, Peyton and Jackson all joined in on the party. It was Copelin's first time swimming, too. What fun!

Blessing Baby Copelin

Sunday December 26, my brother, Brian, blessed his sweet baby, Copelin. Don't they look so cute, Daddy and his little "mini me"?! Brian did such a great job with the blessing and it was so fun to see all the family that was able to attend. The bottom picture is all the babies born into the Anderson family in '09. Justus was first, then Ever (far right- 11 days after Monkey), Bella (second to the right) was four weeks after Ever, and Copelin rounded-out the year in August. Aren't those cousins going to have fun??? :)

Fun First Christmas

We had so much fun over our Christmas holiday, and it will take a few posts to get to it all, but first things first... Christmas! We spent Christmas Eve at my parents house. My sister came up from Arizona so there were lots of fun cousins to play with. Christmas morning was a blast. Monkey didn't know what to think about opening gifts at first, but it didn't take him long to get into the idea. He had so much fun tearing off the wrapping paper and did he ever hit the jackpot! We went to my parents house for breakfast that morning and then off to Sherryil's for dinner. We tried to find time in between to play with all of baby's fun new toys. Loved it! Loved it! Loved it!

We have been having so much fun with our little monkey! He's having a ball learning how to walk. He takes more steps by himself everyday, I'm afraid he'll be running before too long! He loves to wave "hi" and "goodbye," and of course we think it's so dang cute! He is a little talking man, mostly jibber jabber, but he does say "Mom" and "Dad," which we love! This guy is keeping us busy, making sure we are paying attention- crazy crazy monkey!

Big 8 Monther

We can't believe it's been 8 months already! Justus is getting so big, so fast. He loves to "run" around chasing his cousins (he's with them nearly every day). He officially holds his own bottle. He has since he was born (not exaggerating), but he wouldn't always do it, and not for the whole time, but he decided he's a tough guy and wants to do it all by himself now. He goes crazy if someone is in the shower and he's not. Makes it a little difficult to get your hair washed! He got haircut #3. The kid's hair grows so fast and it's really thick, so the spikes won't stand-up they just flop over because they get too long. Tooth #1 has proven to be a detriment to his crib. As we were rearranging his room yesterday we had him chilling in there and hear this scraping noise... turns out the crib is super fun to chew on. The whole inside of the rail is down to bare wood. Nice, bud! We have a little Aggie fan on our hands. We took him to his first (and second, and third, and...) basketball game. He has lots of fun, but it goes way past his bedtime so by the end, it is definitely time to go home. My favorite thing this month, he has become a dancin' man. It is hilarious to watch him get his groove on.

Monkey Man Turns 7 Months Old

Isn't he the cutest monkey you've ever seen?! Well, I think he is, but then, I am his mother. Justus was quite the adventurous 6 month old. He is now a speed crawler- especially when it's time to change a diaper, he loves to "run" away. He just giggles the whole time because he knows he's not suppose to be doing it (yep, we're in trouble). He climbs right up the stairs like they're nothing... going down is another story. He only wants to go up when you try to teach him how to go down and down when of course you don't want him to. Crawling isn't quite cutting it, though. He wants to walk! We're wandering around holding his hands as he is attempting it because he gets mad that he has to be on his hands and knees. He still has a long ways to go, but he's starting to get there. Doc specs: height 80%, weight 18%, head 52% We're not starving the kid, he is just a mover. Little skinny bum! I've got to make the kid a belt so that we can get his pants to stay up as he's crawling away. He is such a jabber box, he always has been, but it's starting to sound like it will become words someday. He's discovered he can click his tongue and make a funny noise, so that's how he likes to communicate with Dad. They will click back and forth to each other... their own kind of Morris code. It's really pretty funny! His first tooth is starting to pop out! We're hitting the big time now! :)

A Day At the Zoo

Dustin took Tuesday off work so that we could go to Hogle Zoo with his family for Mayson's birthday. We had so much fun- they have so many new baby animals there. They were adorable! My favorite was the baby elephant; so darn cute! :) Justus seemed to be having a great time (even if he did take a nap in the middle!). Happy 6th birthday Mayson!

A Little Fun, A Little Funk

So I got this mirror on a killer clearance sale because frame was broken. Looked like an easy fix and it was. However, I ended-up not actually having a place to put it. I really wanted to use it, so I decided that the hallway would do. I wanted to have a little fun with it though so I went with a color that is a little funky and on my list of favorites. It wasn't until I actually took the picture of it hanging up that I realize I had made myself a giant wreath... hummm, oh well, still love the color! There should always be room for a little funky fun somewhere in our decorating, right? Oh well if not! I've got it!

Inspiration Point

We took a ride with my parents, and Brian, Cassie, and Coplin to Inspiration Point. It's an amazing view from the top, looking out over Willard Bay and the Odgen Valley. It was Coplin's first ride. It was a great one to take him on because it was nice and smooth. They had gone through and grated it sometime since our last time there, which was last fall. My parents really enjoyed the ride this time (we were with the same group last fall, minus the babies- well, Justus was technically there, but he was easier to hold on to! ;) ) because we did have the babies and that really slowed us down. As my mom said she could "enjoy the scenery and not have to hold on for dear life." :) Funny, funny! I didn't think we were that crazy before, either way, I'm just glad we can still get out and enjoy the beautiful mountains!

Red Spur

We took Justus, Sherryil, Ty, and Kolter for a fun ride to Red Spur (on your way from Hardware Ranch to Randolph). We thought it was going to be a pretty quick ride, but it was 47 miles! Justus did great and I think everyone else had fun, too. When we got to Red Spur, the wind was blowing like crazy and it was pretty cold- as you can tell from the sweatshirts. I had to laugh at Justus, he looked so funny, but hey, he was still having a great time!

Month Four

Justus had such a fun 4th month! He grew so much and had such a great time doing it. We took him camping. It was the annual camping trip with Dustin's family. It was fun, but super cold! I think it hovered around a balmy 45 degrees most of the weekend. We had just got our new four wheeler so we got to test that out. Good fun! Justus seemed to enjoy the rides we took him on... other than the frozen eyeballs. He tried his first tastes of food and man is that good stuff! He loves to help me feed him and for whatever reason, he thinks cereal time is social time because he just jabbers away as I'm trying to spoon it in. He loves to eat, though! His favorite trick he learned is to blow spit bubbles; talk about fun! He really enjoys doing that while eating, too. It's really not surprising that he and I both end-up with cereal splattered all over us! It makes for a lovely mess!
